General Medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and the non-surgical treatments of diseases that are related to the internal organs such as diseases of liver, lung, respiratory illness etc. Doctors, in general, who prescribe general medicine are trained to manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and long-term medical conditions and symptoms. In our General Medicine Department, we find the causes and symptoms as well as diagnose and treat a huge range of disorders. Our expertise of general medicine handle acute illness such as poisoning, gastroenteritis, viral fever, headache, diarrhoea etc as well as chronic illness such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, migraine, anemia, cardiac diseases etc. Our doctors have expertise in diagnostic reasoning, managing uncertainty, dealing with co-morbidities and recognizing when specialty opinion or care is required. Department of Medicine currently has 5 units 11 bedded ICUand 8 bedded ICCU along with 1 HDU , 2 male and 2 female wards with 30 beds each , taking the ward capacity to 150 patients .
